Prof. Panigrahi is medically qualified with a MBBS degree (basic medical degree), MD (Doctorate in Medical Microbiology) and FRCPath (Fellow of Royal College of Pathologists, London). Has teaching, clinical and research experience over 40 years. He has academic ranks as Professor and Chairman, Medical Microbiology (Postgraduate Medical Institute, India), Professor, Kuwait University (Health Sciences Center), Professor, Chairman of Clinical Sciences, Vice Dean and acting Dean (University of Sharjah, College of Medicine), Chief Academic Officer (RAK Medical University) and currently Professor (College of Medicine, Ajman University). He has vast research experience mostly in pediatric infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, novel diagnostic techniques and acid peptic diseases. Has published over 100 papers, presented research work in many international and national level meetings, has been an invited speaker and visiting professor to several institutions. He has received Lifetime achievement awards, distinguished clinician award and award as a distinguished academician. He has been practicing clinical microbiology for the last 30 years. Has been a consultant clinical microbiologist at India, Kuwait and the UAE. He is recipient of NIH fellowship of the USA and WHO fellowship, under whish worked for varied periods in the USA and Switzerland.
