There exist plethora of research that investigates different topics related to management, use and impact of information technology in the organization. Despite the presence of heaps of research to date, considerably large number of information technology projects does not reap the maximum benefit. This paper provides a critical review of studies related to information technology post adoption stage. It highlights the importance of post adoption stage and assimilates research from different literature to identify the gaps within information systems literature. The paper also highlights the academic and practitioner contributions and implications on the future research. © 2011 IEEE.
