Diminishing MBA Enrolment of Selected Universities in United Arab Emirates
The remarkable growth in economic and business activity in the Arabian Gulf region over the past decade has greatly stimulated the demand for skilled and competent business graduates however, there was a noticeable decline in student enrollment over the past years. The action research aims to describe and assess the decline of MBA enrolment of selected Universities in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The research employed survey and series of in-depth interviews with the MBA students of various universities in UAE. The description of the causes of the diminishing enrolment were tackled .The research findings show that the students opted to discontinue pursuing the graduate program due to multiple responsibilities at work and family i.e., rigorous demands of MBA program, not motivated to pursue further studies among others. Recommendations pertain to address some innovations in implementation of the MBA program such as student centered approach, international accreditation, design more aggressive marketing campaigns and inject more out of class activities.
