UNVEILING THE TEACHER'S JOURNEY: UNDERSTANDING THE INSIDER AND OUTSIDER DYNAMICS OF TEACHER'S BURNOUT

Objective: The main goal of this study is to investigate how Work Overload and leadership affect Job Burnout in teachers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Additionally, the study aims to explore how Self-Efficacy mediates the connections between Work Overload, Leadership Behaviour, and Job Burnout in UAE teachers. Methodology: In this research, a quantitative approach was used, and a sample of 400 instructors was selected to represent the study's target population. Out of the available options, 304 teachers, constituting 76% of the sample, actively participated and contributed valuable data for the subsequent phases of the study. Results: This study has uncovered a statistically significant correlation between Leadership Behaviour and two essential psychological factors: exhaustion and Self-Efficacy. There is substantial evidence indicating that Leadership Behaviour has a notable impact on both fatigue levels and Self-Efficacy. Furthermore, the mediation analysis has illuminated the pivotal role of Self-Efficacy in the pathways that link Work Overload and exhaustion, as well as Leadership Behaviour and Burnout. The statistically significant p-values strongly indicate that Self-Efficacy serves as a crucial mediating factor in these connections. Implication: The study's findings will be beneficial for policymakers, researchers, and educators by enhancing their understanding of the connections between Self-Efficacy, Work Overload, Leadership Behaviour, and Job Burnout.
