Unlocking the potential of multimedia: Investigating faculty perspectives on the impact of technology in teaching social work courses in Egypt universities

Abstract

is study aims to assess the effectiveness of multimedia technology in teaching social work courses, as well as identify the obstacles and best practices for its integration from faculty members' perspectives in the Social Work Department at Egyptian universities. The researcher utilizes the analytical descriptive method and applies a study instrument to a random sample of 306 faculty members. The findings indicate that multimedia technology has the potential to enhance the teaching and learning experience in social work courses, but there are also barriers that need to be addressed and best practices that should be followed to effectively integrate it. The study highlights the need for adequate funding, training, and support to promote the effective use of multimedia technology. Moreover, the study suggests that promoting student-centered learning and providing a variety of multimedia tools and resources can enhance the effectiveness of multimedia technology in teaching social work. The findings also indicate that age and experience are important factors to consider when promoting the use of multimedia technology in teaching social work. Finally, the study emphasizes the importance of evaluating the impact of multimedia technology on student learning outcomes to ensure its effectiveness in teaching social work.
