Abstract

The study aimed to identify the nature of the community members’ awareness of the impact of the Covid 19 crisis on family relations in light of the large use of technology through smart phones and social media platforms in the United Arab Emirates by researching the relationship of the spouses with each other and the impact of the crisis of the parents’ relationship with their children and the family’s relationship with their relatives in Emirati society. To achieve this, the study used the quantitative approach to reach the goal by distributing a questionnaire to 300 respondents from various segments of society, and the study concluded that the outbreak of the Corona pandemic led to strengthening the relationship between spouses in all fields despite the large use of smart phones and follow-up on social media platforms. Among its aspects, such as sharing household burdens or feeling the value of the other party and shouldering responsibility jointly, and this led to a reduction in disputes between the spouses, meaning that the final effects on the marital relationship are positive effects and that it enables the Emirati society to adapt successfully in light of the spread of the Corona pandemic, as it was There is an understanding by children about physical distancing, and parents provided home activities as an alternative to outdoor activities, so as to enhance communication with their children and reduce electronic activities via phones and electronic games, and social media programs were used in the correct way to communicate with parents.
