Abstract
Purpose: The rise of ecotourism has highlighted how important it is to educate tourists on how to travel sustainably. In this study, a case study of luxury travel vloggers in Dubai is utilized to assess the potential of using vlogging as a tool for sustainable travel education. The survey revealed that the vloggers’ fans believed that vlogging was an effective way to teach others about environmental friendly travel. They believed that vlogging might promote eco-friendly travel destinations and experiences, encourage visitors to engage in eco-friendly behaviors, and spread awareness of eco-friendly travel options. Overall, our study suggests that vlogging, especially among young people with high levels of education and financial resources, may be an effective method for teaching them about sustainable travel. Luxury travel vloggers in Dubai may use their platform to promote environmentally responsible travel and educate their audience about its benefits. However, vloggers need to make sure that their messages on sustainability are factually correct, trustworthy, and backed up by research. Future research may look at the effectiveness of vlogging as a method for teaching different types of travelers about sustainable travel in different contexts. It may examine how social media apps like Instagram and TikTok support the promotion of environmentally friendly travel strategies and destinations. In the end, this research could contribute to the development of sustainable tourist policies that are both favorable commercially and environmentally. Design/methodology: Structured questionnaires were used to conduct this research. Men and women from diverse age groups, economic ranges, and work-related circumstances, together with business, service, and others, provided the study’s principal sources of data. Each survey parameter was estimated on a measure of 5 points, ranging from 1 for “strongly disagree” to 5 for “strongly agree.” Findings: The study found that luxury travel vloggers in Dubai may successfully disseminate information about eco-friendly travel via their blogs. The viewers of the vloggers had an interest in sustainability and saw vlogging as a way to disseminate information and promote eco-friendly travel alternatives.
