Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an integral component of human existence, with individuals employing AI tools in various facets of life. Among the most significant applications of AI is its role in facilitating communication among humans. The present study focuses on the use of AI in translating a crucial type of text that falls within the realm of geography specifically, geopolitical texts. This study investigates the influence of geography on the politics and economy of different countries. To this end, the research utilises the ChatGPT and Google Translate applications for translating geopolitical texts. A total of 84 geopolitical news headlines have been selected for analysis. The researcher adopts an eclectic model for analysing English- Arabic translations in order to address the study's key questions: What strategies are employed in rendering English geopolitical news headlines into Arabic? Furthermore, how accurate are AI tools in conveying geopolitical texts from English to Arabic?.
