Abstract
The problems dealing with some unidirectional flows of a Burgers' fluid are investigated. By using the constitutive equation for a Burgers' fluid in the literature, the governing time-dependent equation is modeled. Based on the flow conditions described, three flow situations are solved and the exact analytic solutions are given using the Fourier transform technique. Finally, the previous solutions, corresponding to second grade fluid, Oldroyd-B fluid, Maxwell fluid and Newtonian fluid, appear as the special cases of the present analysis.
