Abstract
This study aims at detecting and analyzing some of the qualitative characteristics of the youth and its relationship with their attitudes towards political participation in Jordan which aims essentially to identify some of the quantitative characteristics of the university youth such as sex ,college ,place or residence and monthly income .and to achieve the objectives of this study which was applied on a stratified layered sample of (200) graduate students in size distributed on four sciences and humanities colleges ,and the data was collected by a questionnaire ,that covered the issue of political participations in the area of parties ,level of democracy and the confidence in public institutions and the preferred party, The researcher used descriptive statistics, working out frequencies, ratios, means, standard deviation and chi square to study correlations amongst study variables. Besides the F-test was used to investigate differences between sample subjects' trends towards political participation regarding the variables of faculty, gender, place of residence, and income. The study found there are no differences of statistical significance amongst youth trends in Jordan attributed to the variables of gender, faculty, and place of residence towards public and important establishment establishments. However there were differences of statistical significant amongst trends of the youth in Jordan attributed to the variables of gender towards being interested in political life; college variable towards taking part in parliamentary elections, preferred party, and youth assessment of democracy level in Jordan; place of residence variable towards the preferred party; and the income level variable towards assessing partisan work.
