Abstract
An exact solution is obtained for the problem of scattering of sound within absorbing parallel plates. The solution to this problem is obtained by the Wiener-Hopf technique. The scattering coefficient is strongly dependent upon frequency. For an infinite absorbing parameter the scattering simulates the response from soft or pressure release plates. The hard screen approximation is more appropriate when the absorbing parameter is zero.
