Abstract

This paper discusses the three-dimensional scattering of sound waves in an open-ended waveguide satisfying absorbing boundary conditions. The problem is formulated in terms of four Wiener-Hopf functional equations. The field in the waveguide is obtained using Cauchy's residue theorem. Comparison has been made with that of a parallel plates waveguide satisfying pressure release (soft) boundary conditions.
