Abstract

Computerising all the data and information, is called Electronic government or e-government. The acceleration of governments to build e-government contributes to serve the citizens along with the activation of public policies. However, there are two important keys in egovernment; the decision making process and making the citizens the main nucleus for the participation in egovernment and especially in decision making and giving the citizens the freedom of expression of opinion. Considering these complex concepts, both the researchers and developers work on improving and using the best ways to develop the decision making process. This paper discusses three main points; decision making techniques used in e-government, the relation of citizens with decision making and the effects on the success of e-government, and the challenges which face decision making in e-government. This study aims to help future researches on decision making and put the major points under light of the researchers.
