Abstract

Sheikh Khalifa Industrial Award (SKIA) is a regional quality award for industrial firms in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The framework of the SKIA closely resembles the MBNQA framework with minor modification in the assessment dimensions. In this paper, principle component analysis is used to predict the score of the Leadership construct from the attained scores of the other seven constructs of the SKIA framework. The results indicate that Leadership level in the industrial firms used in this study is highly correlated to the first principle component of the data set which comprises the seven constructs. The predicted Leadership values were found to closely match the actual Leadership values in the survey conducted by the examiners of SKIA authorities for two different datasets representing the years 2000 and 2001.
