Abstract

In the last few decades, there has been significant development in the biological applications of nanotechnology. The use of nanomaterials is established in various dental applications including tissue regeneration, reinforcement of polymeric composites, endodontics application, and in implant coatings. The service of dental health care standards has improved due to the development of novel nanobiomaterials and by altering the properties of already existing biomaterials. A better understanding of nanomaterials is required to envisage the future of dentistry. It is believed that in the next decade these promising materials will find a variety of dental applications with improved therapeutic application. The aim of this chapter is to discuss the current dental applications of nanobiomaterials, recent innovations, and potential future expectations.
