Abstract

In this chapter, we focused on the discussion of different materials-based thin films and their fabrication techniques. We have provided a complete overview of thin films, their definitions, and classifications. Details on various fabrication routes such as physical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition, thermal evaporation, atomic layer deposition, molecular beam epitaxy, spray pyrolysis, sol-gel coating, electrochemical deposition, and pulsed laser deposition have been provided. Various characteristics and applications of thin films have been discussed.
