Abstract

This Letter analyzes the influence of Hartman number on the flows of an Oldroyd-B fluid in a porous medium. The flow modelling is based on the modified Darcy's law. Exact analytic solutions are obtained for the velocity, volume flux and tangential stresses. The obtained solutions satisfy all the conditions and governing equations. These solutions are found to be significantly affected by the applied magnetic field, material parameters of fluid, porosity and permeability of the medium. Comparison of the present solutions is also made with the existing results. Finally, the graphs are plotted for the variations of emerging parameters and discussed.
