Abstract
The rotating flow of second grade fluid between two parallel plates was investigated. The large scale and moderate motions of the atmosphere were found to be greatly affected by the vorticity of the earth's rotation. It was observed that both steady and unsteady solutions are strongly dependent upon the rotation and magnetic parameters. The steady solutions in case of second grade fluid was shown to be identical to that of the viscous fluid.
