Knowledge, attitude and practice of piezo surgery among general practitioners in Chennai

Abstract

Dentistry over a decade has undergone many significant advancements and has led to the evolution in various facilities in order to provide better and com-fortable treatment to the patients. One among which piezosurgery is a novel innovation that contributes to the bone surgery and fulfills both biological and Technical criteria. It is a soft tissues bearing system for bone procedures with the use of low-frequency micro-vibrations. The survey was conducted online using google sheets, and a questionnaire consisting of 12 questions were circulated among 100 people of Chennai district. The responses were compiled and analysed using the statistical package in google sheets. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the general practitioners of India are unaware about piezosurgery and its applications.
