Abstract
A number of boundary layer flows induced by the axisymmetric stretching of a sheet are studied. The sheet is stretched with a velocity proportional to the distance from the vertical axis. The resulting non-linear ordinary differential equations are solved analytically using the homotopy perturbation method. The values for the skin friction obtained numerically are also listed in tables. Comparison of the results with the exact solutions shows that the homotopy perturbation method gives excellent results.
