Abstract

This paper presents a high-performance planar hexagonal coil-type wireless power transfer (WPT) system based on strong magnetic coupling resonance. The antenna, possessing a 48-by-44 sq. mm area, acts as the resonating element. The proposed WPT has been developed on Rogers RO3003 substrate and operates at 433 MHz. Subsequently, the designed system demonstrates an extremely high power transfer efficiency (PTE) of more than 90% at a 23 mm distance. Furthermore, the WPT system provides more than 50% PTE during vertical and horizontal 18 mm misalignment shift. In addition, the WPT can provide more than 40% PTE when transmission distance varies from 23 to 36 mm.
