Abstract

The relationship between epidemic and society is one of the topics that illustrate the intersection between social and health studies; this research is an interdisciplinary study between health, sociology and media, with the aim of clarifying the mutual effect during COVID-19. The research raises a question about the impact of the official media on social welfare services in the UAE. The importance of the research is due to the continuation of the outbreak of the Corona virus in second wave. The research aims to determine the role of the official media in social welfare during COVID-19. The study used the descriptive method by analysing the content of 95 news items issued by the official news agency in the UAE. The most important findings of the research are that media has a direct impact on social welfare services in all areas of care.
