Abstract

This study examines the impact of ChatGPT AI tools on student usage behavior in higher education in the UAE. A survey of 565 students, analyzed through structural equation modeling (SEM), results indicated a positive relationship between perceived usefulness and the selected factors such as reliance on ChatGPT, plagiarism concerns, biases, ethical considerations, user interface proficiency, and subject matter limitations using the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The results revealed that the perceived usefulness of the factors supported by AI tools significantly shaped students’ perceptions and positively influenced their usage of ChatGPT.
