Abstract
The focus of this chapter is gamification and serious gaming in the medical field. The chapter outlines the key role of gamification in digital transformation and how it translates in healthcare settings, especially in surgical training and patient care. It highlights examples of how gamification is used and how it has positively improved clinical outcomes. The chapter also provides information on the limitations of gamification and suggests future directions to steer healthcare gamification into a more effective, structured, and more importantly, more secure and safer patient care.
