title = "Blockchain in Healthcare: Privacy-Preserving Applications and Security Protocols for Patient Data Management",
abstract = "Blockchain technology has gained attention as a potential fix to overcome the barriers of maintaining the privacy, security, and integrity of healthcare data. Blockchain stores patient information in a secure, transparent and tamper-resistant way, so it can be readily accessed by healthcare providers without privacy concerns. The paper provides an overview of privacy-preserving blockchain applications in healthcare, with a particular focus on various developed security protocols to secure sensitive patient data. This is because it is far more than just a cryptocurrency used as a technology, it helps improve interoperability, maintains the authenticity of the data and restricts unauthorized access in healthcare systems. The article also elaborates some critical challenges and future perspectives of blockchain in revolutionizing healthcare data management.",
