Abstract

In this paper, we present a summary of our work in the applications of capacitance sensors in structure health monitoring system with internet of things capabilities. We present two practical applications for the system. The first is reinforcement bars detection in reinforced concrete structure and the second is debonding detection between Carbon Fiber sheets and concrete slabs. We integrate the sensors configurations in a practical Internet of things system to enhance its usability. The results show the feasibility of the two sensors configurations in their application and the advantages of utilizing Internet of Things application in structural health monitoring application.
