Abstract

This study examines how Ajman University students view the integration of ChatGPT into higher education. As AI and machine learning grow more significant in academia, universities are encouraged to reconsider their teaching methods and assessment strategies. The research explores students' perceptions of ChatGPT's educational advantages and possible obstacles, emphasizing its role in enhancing learning, increasing engagement, and aiding academic work. A quantitative approach was used, involving a structured questionnaire given to a representative student sample. Data analysis with SPSS included calculating averages, standard deviations, and reliability measures. Findings show that students generally view ChatGPT positively, valuing its real-time feedback, self-paced learning opportunities, and boost efficiency. Still, concerns about over-dependence, output accuracy, and potential risks to academic integrity were raised. The results indicate that ChatGPT can be a valuable teaching tool if integrated thoughtfully into instruction. The study suggests creating clear institutional policies, offering student training programs, and ongoing monitoring to promote responsible and ethical AI use in higher education.
