Abstract
This chapter explores the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing teacher professional development (PD) by offering personalized, adaptive, and data-driven support. While existing research shows positive effects of PD on student achievement, there is a lack of conceptual understanding of AI’s role in in-service teacher training. AI can address key challenges such as providing real-time feedback and tailored learning experiences, making PD more effective. The chapter argues that AI-powered PD models can foster continuous learning, drive educational innovation, and better prepare teachers for modern classrooms, ultimately leading to greater student success and improved educational outcomes.
