Abstract
The propagation of an acoustic field in the form of a semi-infinite wave train or a pulse generated by a moving point source in the presence of a moving fluid is investigated. The acoustic velocity of the fluid is assumed to be depth dependent. For a slow moving source the field is expressed entirely in terms of contemporary time. The physical interpretation of this result is discussed.
