Abstract
The use of Aloe vera is being promoted for a wide variety of conditions. Aloe vera can be effective for treating aphthous stomatitis, genital herpes, psoriasis, human papilloma virus, seborrheic dermatitis, lichen planus, xerosis, burn, frostbite, inflammation and induce wound healing. This chapter presents an overview of Acemannan, an extract of Aloe vera, and its various applications in dentistry, with an emphasis on oral tissue regeneration. The basic chemical constituents of Aloe vera, and its therapeutic effects are described.
