Abstract

Automated sign language recognition provides additional enhancements to human-machine interaction in many applications. In this paper, the authors focus on the Arabic sign language and offer a real-time implementation using the CyberGlove and the interface. A total of 28 signals are measured from the CyberGlvoe and the Ascension tracker and the authors have developed and build both software and hardware to implement the recognition system. Several testing stages have been constructed and experimental results are presented using a small number of sign language subjects. The system shows a 95.7% accuracy of these tests.
